Homicide victim was shot

The findings of an autopsy are consistent with the Oconee coroner’s first account of the weekend death of a North Carolina man found on a road, not far from the Pickens County line. Karl Addis, the Oconee coroner, says Rashean Parker II died of a single gunshot wound to the chest. The 21-year old Parker died Saturday morning at Oconee Medical Center where he was taken after suffering cardiac arrest. But Addis says the cardiac arrest was a secondary contributor after the gun shot and blood loss. Two young men have been arrested in the investigation in what the Oconee Sheriff’s Office has determined as attempted robbery.
