Hospital achieves positive margin in August

More patients using a variety of services led Oconee Medical Center to achieve a positive margin of nearly $220 thousand in August. The board of directors was told last night those patient volumes were strong in the hospital last month, and that other services, including the Emergency Department, surgery and hospice had more patients than expected. The positive results helped improve the bottom line for the year to date, but it still remains negative, at a loss of about $1.4 million. August was the 11th month of the fiscal year for Oconee Medical Center.
