Hospital security guard arrested

A 36-year old man who worked as a security guard at the Oconee Medical Center was arrested today and charged with stealing money at the hospital. According to the Sheriff’s Office, William Zachariah Poole was charged with grand larceny in the theft of $2,900 dollars. A deputy quoted a hospital worker as saying that a patient lost $2,900 in $100 dollar bills when he was admitted to the hospital as a friend was taking belongings out of his vehicle and the money fell to the ground. A Good Samaritan found the money and turned it into the security office. There it was placed in a safe until someone could come and claim the money. It was later discovered that the money was missing.
