Hospitals’ transition underway

Change is in the air these days at the Oconee Medical Center—in advance of October 1, the date OMC falls under the control of the regional Greenville Health System. And it means paperwork and physical assessments for those OMC employees who wish to remain in their jobs. “What they’re having to do is just fill out standard paperwork so that Greenville has an employment file. Everybody has to do it. I’ve done it,” said Hunter Home, chief operating officer at OMC. Between now and October 1, expect to see the start of GHS signs replacing OMC signs—although no major change in colors as OMC’s shade of green will give way to GHS’s shade of green.
