Hotel appears on the way

One of the wants of Walhalla Partners for Progress is a hotel, and it appears that Oconee County Council will do its part.  The council last night gave the first of three required readings to an ordinance to allow a developer to take over the former courthouse, at Main and N. Church.  “The long-awaited first reading of an ordinance” is the way County Administrator Scott Moulder put it as he addressed the council.  The 1956 building sits in what many believe is a dilapidating condition, but builder Tom Markovich has high hopes for his project and is anxious to save an old building from the wrecking ball.
