House-building project starts tomorrow

During the 10 days leading to the Homecoming game, Clemson University’s Habitat for Humanity chapter will bring together more than 500 students for its annual house-build on Bowman Field. Chapter members encourage everyone to participate in the build that begins tomorrow and continues until October 24. No experience is required. Students will be taught how to properly swing hammers, put up siding or install drywall. Clemson’s Habitat for Humanity hopes to raise $65,500 to cover the building costs.  The house will benefit a single mother in Easley.  She is required to put in 200 “sweat equity” hours of work on her own and other local Habitat homes.  She’s to pay a reduced mortgage of $350 a month.
