Husband considered primary aggressor

Sheriff’s officers say their investigation of an incident late yesterday afternoon at a Townville home points to the husband as the primary aggressor, even though the husband suffered multiple stab wounds. According to an announcement by the Oconee Sheriff’s Office, the husband was jailed on a temporary custody order upon his release last evening from the hospital where he was treated for superficial stab wounds. Jimmy Watt, Sheriff’s Office spokesman, says a call from a third party led officers to Peartree Lane, south of the Townville community. He says investigators determined a man and his wife got into an argument which led to an altercation, “with the man allegedly picking up a coffee cup, throwing it, and hitting her in the head. The man then reportedly approached his wife, whereupon she allegedly picked up the knife and stabbed him…,” according to the announcement.
