Hydrants in the middle of Main!

Two red fire hydrants now sit in the middle of Walhalla’s Main Street, on the islands between the blocks of Tugaloo and College.  Some people are questioning why hydrants in the middle of the streets.  But according to the contractor Hutch ‘N Son,

these hydrants are positioned perfectly for fire trucks to access for both sides of the street.

Workers today intend to pour the new driveway for the convenience store/gas station at Main and Tugaloo so that it can be open tomorrow morning.
