I-85 corridor sewer plan gets high score

A plan to lay the first sewer pipes along Oconee’s four-mile stretch of interstate highway received a high score today from an advisory committee. The Capital Project Advisory Committee did not differentiate between Phase One or the entire plan as recommended by Richard Blackwell, the county Economic Alliance director. Blackwell estimates fulfilling all sewer needs at three I-85 interchanges will require $11.8 million. The committee’s overall weighted score came to 81.8 out a possible 100. Projects considered by the committee are sent to the county planning commission for a recommendation to the county council.
