“I want this phased out”

It looks as if Westminster’s next budget will square expenses with revenues.  The mayor and council went into last night’s budget workshop with the task of trimming about $190 thousand dollars.  They agreed on cuts covering several areas, including the deletion of truck purchases and spending less on re-opening the swimming pool.  Councilwoman Susan Ramey announced Thursday, June 9 as the tentative date to re-open the pool, but an important meeting of volunteers and others interested in the project will take place at noon Saturday at the Legion Hut.  Ramey also said it’s her wish that “miscellaneous” expense items will be eliminated in future city budgets.  “All we see is miscellaneous and that’s a broad band of stuff,” she said.
