“I’m ready to go to Phoenix”

To get to away games, such as tomorrow in Miami, the Clemson Tigers travel by air.  But their equipment is transported by truck.  Make that one large tractor-trailer truck which departed yesterday afternoon from Memorial Stadium for a long haul to Miami.  It’s a labor of love for the two truck drivers:  Tom Luke and Mike Brown.  They are rabid fans and are glad to play a part in one of the country’s top five programs.  The long drive doesn’t bother Luke.  In fact, he’d love to have to drive the big rig to Glendale, Arizona for the site of the BCS Championship game.  Luke’s driving partner is Mike Brown, who has many years experience driving big trucks for the City of Clemson.  A driver-in-waiting is Clemson student Cole McKibbin.  He’s in training to become one of the equipment truck drivers, also.
