Important voting dates loom

Important dates are approaching in the next couple of days for any Walhalla and Westminster resident who can’t make it to the polls next month, but would like to make their vote count anyway. Absentee voting for the November 5 city elections will open Monday, October 7 and close 5 p-m Friday, November 1. You can request a mail-in ballot by calling the Voter Registration office at 638-4196. Walk-in absentee voting can be done at the office, room 100, at 415 S. Pine Street weekdays. If you are not a registered voter and wish to vote November 5, you must register by Friday, October 4, or have it postmarked by Saturday, October 5. You may register to vote by mail or online at scvotes.org. Walhalla and Westminster each will vote for three council positions. The elections are non-partisan.
