“…in all cases going forward.”

March 4, 2013

From this day forward, Oconee Sheriff’s Department policy will be to ask the courts for the maximum fines and sentences for all domestic violence cases. Third-month Sheriff Mike Crenshaw says, “Domestic violence in Oconee County has a bad history.” He spoke on Friday, the day that Oconeeans were challenged to donate to a capital campaign to raise $990 thousand to build the county’s first shelter for the abused. The Safe Harbor organization hopes to have the shelter in place by 2015, or sooner.
