In spite of rain, events for Marines continue

Organizers of events for the visiting Marines are keeping their eyes on Oconee County weather—especially tonight’s Veterans Appreciation Family Night at Seneca’s Gignilliat Field. “We had a beautiful day to welcome the Marines into the Upstate area with crowds lining the streets and waving flags and a beautiful evening picnic with no rain last night, so we are indeed fortunate that today we have some activities that are scheduled to take place in venues that it (the rain) won’t be so critical…., said Debbie Williams, spokeswoman for the organizers. As things stand now, tonight’s event in Seneca is a go.
