Infant abuse investigated at Seneca

A 19-year old man in Seneca has been arrested and charged with unlawful conduct toward a child.  Police Chief John Covington said his investigators intend to obtain a second warrant further charging Leroy Lee Morris with inflicting great bodily harm to a child.  The child, an infant, was reported by Covington to be in critical condition at Greenville Health System, having been admitted there with skull fractures, a broken collarbone, a broken arm, a fractured eye socket, a fractured femur, and a spinal cord injury.  The police have identified Morris, resident of 711 E-S 6th Street, as the mother’s live-in boyfriend who had kept the child while the mother worked.
