Information Forum to Explain Affordable Care Act

Whit implementation of the Affordable Care Act set for January 2014, the Marine Crops League, Detachment 1131, is hosting an informational forum Tuesday night to address how the law will affect those living and working in South Carolina. Experts from the South Carolina Insurance Commission and the State Department of Health and Human Services will be present at the event. Tim Callahan, of the Marine Corps League, says the meeting is not a debate on the pros or cons of the controversial law, dubbed Obamacare. Instead, Callahan says, it is to help citizens understand what to expect. The event takes place at 6:00 PM Tuesday at the Giginilliant Center in Seneca. It is a free event and is open to the public. Meanwhile, open enrollment in the Affordable Care Act continues, despite major software glitches since it launched October 1.
