ISP company receives Oconee go ahead

One of Oconee’s approved vendors to offer broadband hookups received a special exception last night for a communication tower near West Union. Josh Stephens, county zoning administrator, said the special exception means that OneTone Telecom of Seneca may use the tower to provide wireless internet to the West Union area community. It’s to be a 65-foot wooden pole along South Carolina 11 at Dogwood Hill Drive. “It’s a little different from your traditional cell phone tower,” Stephens told 96.3/WGOG NEWS. The special exception was approved by the Oconee County Board of Zoning Appeals during its meeting last night.
