ITECH South expands in Oconee

The official announcement that an Oconee manufacturer is expanding arrived today from the offices of the Governor and the Department of Commerce. The announcement follows an Oconee County Council meeting last night when the county tied ribbons to a financial package for the company and its promise over the next five years to make a $6 million investment and create 34 new jobs near Westminster. Headquartered in Arden, North Carolina, ITECH provides molding-based services to its customers—including product and packaging design, material selection, prototype development, mold flow and mold design. In the expansion, ITECH is to add seven new molding machines and two new shipping doors. Construction is expected to be completed by the middle of the year. It is anticipated that hiring will begin in September. At last night’s meeting District Three Councilman Paul Cain expressed gratitude to ITECH for hosting a recent tour of its plant at 7090 S. Highway 11.
