ITT makes its Oconee expansion announcement

The need for a new test facility is behind ITT Corporation’s announcement that it will expand its Oconee County manufacturing operations. Those operations are located at 105 Commerce Way near Westminster. ITT, headquartered at White Plains, New York, promises to invest $2.5 million into the facility over the next five years. The announcement makes no mention of any new jobs. The expansion plans call for a new specialized testing facility for components to natural gas vehicles. They’ll consist of compressed natural gas pressure regulators and liquid natural gas regulators for heavy vehicles. ITT’s Oconee plant has been part of the Westminster community since 1979, when the former Compact Air Products re-located to the area. Compact Air later became part of International Motion Control which subsequently, in 2007, was acquired by ITT. That company consolidated its Conoflow brand of products to its Westminster operation.
