Jack Lombard tribute this Saturday

“The Mountains are Calling…and I must go” is one way to bill this weekend’s tribute to the memory of Jack Lombard, whose highway 107 home was an outpost in upper northern Oconee County. Lombard achieved his wish of being born in the home where he died. And Saturday night at 6 o’clock his friends and family will remember him with a tribute at the Oconee State Park. It’ll take place in the barn where Lombard was the long-time caller of square dances. There will be bluegrass bands, square dancing, and clogging. A memorial service to celebrate Lombard’s life will take place at 2 o’clock Saturday afternoon at the park.
