Jobless claims increase in OC

The unemployment rates across South Carolina and the country dropped during November, but they inched higher in Oconee County. In November, 8.6% of Oconee’s workforce was looking for work, compared to 8.4% a month earlier, according to an announcement by the South Carolina Department of Employment and Workforce. For the fourth straight month, S.C.’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate dropped–to 8.3%. And nationally it fell to 7.7%.
