Joe Greenberg’s the man on the ground

Joe Greenberg spent his first night last night in Salem.  For this representative of the Next High School charter school, this is just a start.  Greenberg and his colleagues with the Greenville-based Next High School have launched their project to convert the Tamassee-Salem Middle/High School campus into state charter school in time for the next school year.  Greenberg stopped by 101.7/WGOG and recorded a  public affairs program.  Next High School has set as a target enrolling 200 students.  They are focused on the Tamassee-Salem students who are losing their middle and high school once the current school year ends in June and the county school district reduces its high schools from four to three.  Greenberg is personally meeting with potential students, parents, and other members of the community.  He admits he’s quite impressed by Salem and its spirit and resolve to make the charter school a success.  Our entire conversation with Joe Greenberg airs at approximately 12:20 this Sunday on ‘Community Sound Off.’
