Johns’ suspension with pay

The interim suspension from office that applies to Kenny Johns, the Oconee Probate Judge, is a suspension with pay—-pending the outcome of the matter involving South Carolina’s Office of Disciplinary Counsel.  It means that Johns will continue to draw from his salary, in excess of $65 and a half thousand dollars a year.  Scott Moulder, Oconee County administrator, says county rules are such that allow a person in a situation such as Johns to continue to be paid while the suspension lasts.  But Moulder also said that should the interim suspension run for a protracted length time, the county reserves the right to stop the salary.
