JRSA finances in order

January 15, 2013

The finances of the multi-million dollar Oconee Joint Regional Sewer Authority at Seneca are in good order, and its executive director says the JRSA received an unqualified opinion from its outside auditor. A copy of the financial statements and independent auditors’ report was available at each table during last night’s JRSA annual meeting. Highlights include: “Net assets increased by $913,996 or 3.7% to $25,769,430 as a result of current year operations. Operating revenues increased by $25,215 or 1% to $3,038,742 due to pre-treatment program services and a slight increase in septic tank service fees.” In May last year, approval was received to operate the Martin Creek sewer system upgrade. That project includes two new pump stations and a three million gallon equalization tank at a cost of about $4.6 million.
