Judge: “I’m giving you a break to prove your worth”

A 34-year old man pleaded guilty today in Oconee County to a third offense of possession of methamphetamine, but the judge will wait before pronouncing sentence.  General Sessions Court Judge Lawton McIntosh said he first wants to evaluate the progress that Michael Wayne Talley makes during a rehabilitative stay in Greenville and whether Talley is able to secure permanent employment.  McIntosh heard Talley’s attorney, Suzanne Earle, and Talley’s mother, Cindy Talley, say that the defendant has made good progress over the last two years—since his arrest.
