Breach of contract judgment under appeal

A $250 thousand judgment is under appeal at the Oconee Courthouse.  The attorney for real estate company owner John Pulliam has filed in the Common Pleas Court for re-consideration of a judge’s order that Pulliam must pay Atlanta area resident Patricia Ford $257,593.12 to settle a case alleging breach of contract.  Ford is the widow of Richard Ford, another real estate company owner.  Judge Scott Sprouse ruled in favor of Mrs. Ford after hearing allegations that Pulliam failed to pay monies due Mrs. Ford as part of a 2003 promissory note involving the purchase of common stock in the Keowee Key Realty Company  Mr. Ford died in 2007.  To his order, Sprouse added attorney fees and other costs, bringing the total award to $283.5 thousand.  But that’s under appeal, and Pulliam lawyer Larry Brandt seeks a hearing.
