Kaufman Park restrooms near completion

April 17, 2014

Recent sunny weather has enabled workers to bring the project to add restrooms to Walhalla’s Kaufmann Park to near completion. The final steps apparently are pouring the concrete for the walkways and installing the light fixtures. Saved to the last was the underpinning, as Maxie Duke says, money is tight and further sources unknown. But Duke and other project supporters are hopeful that a singer’s concert in June at the Walhalla Civic Auditorium will realize a good profit. The concert will feature Catherine Devoe, daughter of Frances and David Devoe of Walhalla. Catie Devoe’s performance Friday night, June 13 will bring a touch of New Orleans-style music to Walhalla. She graduates next month in Vocal Performance from Loyola University. Tickets for Catie Devoe are $20 for adults and $10 dollars for students.
