Kellett protest meeting tomorrow

Homeowners opposed to Seneca building a utilities complex in the vicinity of where they live plan a rally tomorrow night. It’s to be a 6:30 meeting at the nearby Trinity Baptist Church, according to the mother of one of the nearby neighbors. Apparently there had been hope that Mayor Alexander or other city officials would take part in that meeting, but late word is that tomorrow’s meeting will likely be homeowners and others concerned only.  City Administrator Greg Dietterick last night said, “We’ve heard their concerns. We’re addressing those concerns with our legal folks,” Dietterick said while speaking to reporters. The city administrator said the city wants to make an intelligent decision on whether to go forward with the project on the property of the former Kellett Elementary School. And discussion toward that decision, Dietterick indicates, will take place during City Council’s regular November meeting on Tuesday.
