Kobe Bryant reaches 30,000 points

Kobe Bryant

Kobe Bryant became only the fifth player in NBA history to score 30,000 points last night (December 5th), reaching the milestone in New Orleans as his L.A. Lakers beat the Hornets 103-87. Bryant needed only 13 points to reach 30,000, getting there before halftime and scoring 29 total for the game. The only other players in the elite 30,000 club are Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Karl Malone, Michael Jordan and Wilt Chamberlain, and at 34, Bryant is younger than they all were when they reached the mark.  Elsewhere in the NBA last night, The Knicks hand the Charlotte Bobcats their fifth straight loss, 100-98, while Atlanta defeated the Denver Nuggets 108-104.
