Lance S. Young installed as Rotary District Governor

The Rotary clubs in Seneca, Fair Play and Westminster will get a visit next week by Lance Young, the Rotary District 7750 Governor.  On July 1, retired Air Force Colonel Young was installed into his new role.  There are 53 Clubs in District 7750, comprised of approximately 2700 Rotarians, from the 19 western counties of South Carolina, plus a portion of Lexington County. Young is a member of the Greenville Rotary Evening Club. Young retired from the U. S. Air Force at the rank of Colonel after serving for over 29 years.  His last assignment was at Clemson University, as the Department Chair and Professor of Aerospace Studies and U.S. Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps Detachment Commander. “Our number one priority right now is the eradication of Polio,” Young said in a recent discussion about the organization.  “We’ve been spearheading this effort since 1985.  There are only two countries remaining that have the polio virus and they are Afghanistan and Pakistan, where there have been 17 reported cases this year.”
