Latest Clemson research on bad sleep habits

If you’d rather sleep but can’t, you may take interest in new research at Clemson.  University researchers have found that poor sleep habits can have a negative effect on self-control.  And that presents risks to personal and professional lives.  Sleep-deprived people are at risk to succumb to impulsive desires, in-attentiveness, and questionable decision-making.  Prior research indicates that poor sleep habits can lead to health problems, including weight gain, hypertension and illness.  Psychologist June Pilcher says studies have found that sleep deprivation decreases self-control but increases hostility in people, which can create problems in the workplace and at home.
