Latest on Sanctuary Pointe from the SC PRT

A project with the potential to ramp up Oconee’s footprint for tourism is the one envisioned as a destination resort off Exit 1, I-85. Those behind Sanctuary Pointe made big splash early this year with an announcement of what they see for a Lake Hartwell peninsula. Since then, things have been quiet. But on Friday Marion Edmonds explained there’s a reason for that. “Everything has been approved for them to move forward. And now the Sanctuary Pointed Limited people are out looking for those investors and developers they need to put it in place,” he said. Edmonds, the communications director for the PRT at Friday’s S.C. Apple Festival luncheon, said he doubts, however, whether shovels will go into the ground before next year.
