Lawsuit alleges wrongful death

The death of a woman in 2014 is at the center of a lawsuit filed this week in the Common Pleas Court at Walhalla.  The lawsuit alleging wrongful death was filed on behalf of Oconee County resident Lucia McKinney, representing the estate of Edna Pringle.  It names six defendants, including Sava Senior Care and a company doing business as Seneca Health and Rehabilitation Center.  According to the lawsuit, Pringle died seven days after being discharged from the facility.  The lawsuit alleges Pringle was over-medicated and died as the result of abuse, neglect, negligence, and violation of the standard care of nursing after having been admitted to the facility in September 2013.  Among the plaintiff’s legal representatives are two Spartanburg lawyers who went to court against Sava and Seneca Health and Rehabilitation in 2014 on behalf of another deceased client.  That trial ended with a settlement simultaneous with the jury’s verdict.
