Libraries seek handicapped ramps

Like the Seneca Library, the libraries in both Walhalla and Westminster may soon acquire amenities to directly benefit handicapped patrons.  The library trustees can thank what’s described as a $150 thousand windfall, courtesy of Oconee County Council.  Automatic doors were recently installed at the Seneca Library and staff now seeks ramps and automatic doors for Walhalla and Westminster.  Trustees Chairman Danny Day and county Director Phil Cheney last night said the priority of accessibility for the handicapped was key during talks with County Administrator Moulder as to who the $150 thousand should be spent.
