Limbaugh and Alewine get votes for County Council

Not everyone who cast a ballot this week thought that Paul Cain or Ernest Riley was the best person for the job of Oconee County Councilman from District Three. A handful of others cast write-in votes that ranged from “none above” to national radio talk show host Rush Limbaugh. Former Seneca councilwoman Andrea Alewine received two write-in votes and Joel Arnold, a candidate this year for city council, received one. Other write in votes went to Tim Cain and Molly Spearman. Someone or thing named “King” got one write-in. Tuesday’s winner, Paul Cain, waits to take the oath to begin to fill the remaining six months of the term of the late Archie Barron. The swearing-in ceremomy is planned for June 3.
