LINDE + WIEMANN gave Oconee a look

The automotive part supply company that will build a plant in a Hart County, Georgia I-85 industrial park gave neighboring Oconee County a look, but Richard Blackwell says, at this time, Oconee simply couldn’t meet the needs of the company LINDE + WIEMANN.  Those needs included a ready building close to the interstate highway.  Although Oconee’s missed opportunity is the gain for Hart County, the Oconee economic development recruiter is encouraged that the announcement for northeast Georgia demonstrates further that companies serving car-building business continue to want to locate within an easy drive of the BMW car plant at Greer.  LINDE + WIEMANN is a German company that specializes in engineered steel systems for motor vehicles.  A separate German company that remains a prospect for Oconee is an automotive-related company which, Blackwell says, has made his county the only South Carolina county that is a finalist in the running.
