Lines to form for produce coupons

For as long as the coupons last, Oconee senior citizens can qualify starting tomorrow for $25 dollars worth of Farmers Market produce coupons. Lines are likely to form early tomorrow morning outside the United Way Office in downtown Seneca. LaShauna Harrison, United Way chief operating officer, says she and her staff can count on an adequate number of volunteers to make sure the lines move as fast as possible. To determine their eligibility, senior citizens must bring information regarding the income of all household members. And those planning to apply for homebound seniors must provide a statement from the seniors granting permission to apply on their behalf. The coupons, 500 of them, are to be issued starting at 9 tomorrow morning and continuing until 3 o’clock Thursday afternoon, or until the supply lasts.
