Lodge makes donation to shelter fund

August 9, 2013

With gratitude, Sheriff Mike Crenshaw has accepted a new contribution to the fund to pay for Oconee’s first shelter to protect individuals from domestic violence. The Woodman of the World Lodge of Oconee made a $1 thousand donation, and Crenshaw promised he’ll deliver the donation to Safe Harbor. Woodman of the World is a fraternal organization that provides life and health insurance and annuity products to its members. “There is still money to be raised. They (Safe Harbor) have not reached their goal yet, so this plays a huge part in helping to get a shelter in Oconee County.” Latest estimates are that the $1 million shelter fund goal has reached two-thirds of the way.
