Lucas portrait to hang in place of honor

Lucas portrait A portrait of Oconee’s immediate past superintendent of education will hang in the school district’s board conference room, alongside others who’ve served in the position. Now retired, Dr. Mike Lucas returned to this week’s meeting of the county trustees, where the portrait was presented by Sherry Moore, president of the Oconee Education Association. OCEA recently re-vitalized itself and now, as an affiliate of the NEA, draws members from across the district including teachers, support personnel, administrators, food service workers, instruction assistants, and other support staff.
