The San Francisco Giants beat the Cincinnati Reds 6-4 Thursday night to win their best-of-five National League Division Series 3 game to 2 in Cincinnati, coming back in three games on the road from being down 2-0. Buster Posey got the big hit of the game for the Giants, a grand slam in the fifth inning to put San Francisco up 6-0.  The Washington Nationals beat the St. Louis Cardinals 2-1 Thursday night in Washington on a game-ending home run in the bottom of the ninth inning by Jayson Werth to tie the series at 2-2. The deciding Game 5 will be played Friday night in the Nationals’ home stadium.  In the American League, the Detroit Tigers blanked the Oakland A’s 6-0 Thursday night in Oakland to win their best-of-five American League Division Series 3 games to 2. Tigers ace Justin Verlander pitched a four-hit gem, his first career postseason shutout and complete game.  The Baltimore Orioles downed the New York Yankees 2-1 Thursday night in the Bronx, needing 13 innings to get the win and tie up the best-of-five American League Division Series at 2 games to 2. J.J. Hardy got the game-winning hit for the Orioles with an RBI double. The deciding Game 5 will be played Friday night in New York.
