Making scooter riding safer

Thomas Alexander has nothing against mopeds that dot the highways. But the state senator says he wants a change in law that’ll make those small vehicles more visible to larger ones. “My concern is their visibility,” Alexander recently told the Walhalla Rotary Club. The legislation the Oconee-Pickens Republican has in mind will require all South Carolina mopeds to display a flashing light at their rear and require the operator to wear a reflective vest.
