Man arrested at scene of apparent burglary

A 33-year old man was arrested yesterday afternoon at the scene of what the Oconee Sheriff’s Office described as a burglary in progress near Seneca. At 29 Sirrine Street, Utica, two deputies placed Robert William Thompson of Boggs Drive, Seneca into custody and eventually charged Thompson with possession of drug paraphernalia. At the Sirrine Street house, the deputies found evidence of entry, a broken back door knob, and a pipe used for smoking marijuana. According to deputies, less than one ounce of marijuana was discovered in Thompson’s jacket pocket as he was being processed at the jail.
