A Fair Play man suspected the boat dock he bought off Craig’s List may have been stolen. Now, an announcement from the Sheriff’s Office that an investigation involving the Army Corps of Engineers confirms the 24’ by 24’ dock was stolen. The man who agreed to buy the boat dock for $4 thousand said he was dealing with a man named “Robert.” According to the Sheriff’s Office, 37-year old Richard Kent Adomat was arrested last Friday and charged with grand larceny and obtaining a signature under false pretenses. The Oconee Detention Center listed Adomat’s address as St. Helena Island, South Carolina.
