Man charged with theft

A 33-year old man has been arrested and charged with stealing a car this summer in Fair Play. Law enforcement reports show the charge of grand larceny against Iva resident Shannon Dale Ashworth. The 33-year old Ashworth was named a suspect in a July 20 Oconee Sheriff’s Office report of the theft of a 1991 Ford Mustang convertible. At the time of the theft, the car was parked along s. highway 11 and available for sale. Ashworth was arrested Friday.
