Manufacturer to start construction next week

Oconee Economic Alliance officials predict construction will start by the middle of next week on the county’s latest manufacturing acquisition.  And Richard Blackwell, the county’s chief economic development recruiter, predicts that it’s going to be an operation in which Oconeeans can take pride because one of the products will show up in automobiles, such as a BMW.  A combination manufacturing operation is planned by the Michigan-based Baxter Enterprises will occupy Oconee’s Information and Technology Park on s. highway 11.  Baxter Enterprises/High Tech Molding plan a $20-plus million dollar investment, 80 thousand square feet, and 87 new jobs.  Blackwell predicts the company will get into its new building in November.
