Markovich: “We are very excited”

Tom Markovich, partner in the project to turn the former Oconee Courthouse into a 19-room hotel with a restaurant, a pub, and maybe a spa, says, “The latest publication of the National Park Service announced the listing of the Oconee County Courthouse on the National Register of Historic Places.”  According to Markovich, it’s one more item off the checkoff list before the hotel becomes reality.  The designation is believed to be key for Markovich and partner Herb Witter to qualify for federal tax credits and the money they’ll need to renovate the 1956 courthouse building.
