Master planners to visit Walhalla

Work on Walhalla’s master plan will start next week when representatives of a planning and design company spend three days in the County Seat.  The planners from Alta Planning and Design from Greenville will take driving tour of the city and meet with a steering committee, the mayor and city council, and the chamber of commerce.  In those settings and in meetings with downtown business owners and the general public, the master planners will encourage input on a vision for the city.  Mayor Edwards has said the city needs a plan to show what’s possible in 15 to 20 years.  The master planners’ visit will cover three days—-Tuesday through Thursday, October 6-8.  At 6 p-m October 8 the public is invited to Old St. John’s Meeting House for a presentation on the planners’ draft findings.
