May is ALS Awareness Month in South Carolina

All South Carolinians are urged to work together this month to raise awareness of a devastating disease. May is Amyoptrohic Lateral Sclerosis Awareness Month in the state, and tomorrow Governor Haley will host a reading of a proclamation. ALS, or Lou Gehrig’s Disease, is a fatal neuro-degenerative disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. The Muscular Dystrophy Association is the leader in research into the causes, prevention and cure.
