McCall decries the vandals

When vandals inflicted their damage to the bathroom at the Walhalla Swimming Pool, they were spoiling some of the hard work that many volunteers and others put in to help restore the pool as the only publicly-operated municipal swim pool left in Oconee County. The damage to the men’s bathroom will run into the thousands of dollars, according to Police Chief Ronald Wilbanks, who is working on posting a reward to be paid to individuals who come forth with information as to the guilty parties. The Walhalla area member of Oconee County Council, Wayne McCall, helped lead the effort to rehabilitate the pool. He believes old-time justice would be appropriate for the vandals and would love the Oconee County Sheriff to have the authority to work the culprits over with a wooden switch.
