Medical Staff members face a vote tonight

At a meeting tonight, the members of the Medical Staff at Oconee Memorial Hospital face a vote on whether to unify with the Greenville Hospital System.  The Oconee hospital went under the umbrella of GHS in 2014.  Now the question arises as to the doctors whose privileges allow them to practice at the local hospital.  Hunter Kome, president of the Oconee Medical Campus of GHS, released this statement to 101.7/WGOG NEWS:  “As spelled out in our lease agreement, we have always planned to ask the OMH Medical Staff to vote on unification with the larger GHS medical staff.  Unifying our staff with the GHS Medical Staff has many advantages for our patients and for OMH physicians….”
